12-Ordinal Punks:
Ordinal Punks hold a legendary status as the very first profile picture (PFP) collection on the Bitcoin blockchain. These 100 unique punks were algorithmically generated, inspired by the famous CryptoPunks by Matt & John.
Unlike most projects today, Ordinal Punks launched without a Twitter presence. Transactions happened through a Discord server, where users paid FlowStay (the creator) directly (over-the-counter) in Bitcoin to receive an Ordinal Punk (if technically possible). Many users even entrusted FlowStay to hold their Ordinal Punks while they traded them on – you guessed it – spreadsheets!
Despite these early hurdles, the Ordinal Punks Discord community thrived, attracting prominent Ethereum collectors like 888 and Dingaling. The project even saw a record-breaking sale of 11.5 Bitcoin (around $495,000 at the time).
